The story outlines how difficult it is choosing a pet, especially with your Mum – who has her own ideas about pets!

But the story is not over when the final choice is made – oh no! The neighbour’s dog is a bully and doesn’t help the story along…

So will there be a happy ending?

The Paper Boat Story

Sneak Preview! (PDF)

This is the first book in a series about adventure!

The three main characters, Sarah, Gofree the Giraffe and Jim the Dog sail off and away on the Paper Boat, meeting up with crocodiles, pirates and sea monsters along the way. They learn to be more resilient and about the power of love and support found in community.

The Paper Boat Story, inspired by Ruth’s granddaughter’s imagination – direct, descriptive and humourous – is part of an ongoing mission to bring ‘things’ to the attention of adult and child on two different levels. These issues are designed to prompt discussion, or at least contemplation amongst all readers/listeners.

Available on all ebook stores, including Amazon.com and ‘print on demand’ Amazon.com or contact Ruth directly via email at ruthalicenesbit@gmail.com.

The book is not only a delightful story with dynamic interactive visuals that can be enjoyed by children, but a fun instructive tool for educators and parents. The illustrations tell a separate story about parenting, global warming and so on, so that the tiny person interacting with the reader can learn about what’s happening in the world as well as enjoying an adventure.

In the author’s opinion each and every child needs to know they are loved, special and unique, so through the pages of The Paper Boat they will begin to learn resilience – nurturing a humorous disposition and overcoming their fear and after falling down, have a positive way of getting up to proceed on life’s journey with a lot of fun and laughter!

I invite the reader or listener to join me on this journey.
